First, FCC certification profile:
The FCC is an acronym for (Federal Communications Commission, US Federal Communications Commission www.fcc.gov), a mandatory certification for electronic products entering the US market. It involves more than 50 states in the United States, Colombia, and the United States.
FCC certification is a mandatory certification of EMC in the United States. It is mainly for FCC certification of FCC certification products of 9KHz-3000GHz. It covers radio, communication and other aspects, especially radio interference problems of wireless communication equipment and systems, including radio interference limits. Value and measurement methods, as well as certification systems and organizational management systems. Products subject to FCC control, such as personal computers, CD players, copiers, radios, fax machines, video game consoles, electronic toys, televisions, and microwave ovens. These products are classified into CLASS A and CLASS B according to their use. Class A is for commercial or industrial use, Class B is for household use, and FCC has stricter regulations for Class B products. Low and Class A. For most electrical and electronic products, the main standards are FCC Part 15 and FCC Part 18.
Second, the form of FCC certification:
The FCC has three certification modes for different products: Verification Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and Certification. Different certification modes require test laboratories to obtain FCC approval and have different application, test and declaration requirements.
1. Verification: Self-verification, the manufacturer or importer ensures that the product has undergone the necessary testing to confirm that the product meets the relevant technical standards and retains the test report, the test laboratory FCC LISTEE, all approved venues are published in the official Online. The FCC has the right to require the manufacturer to submit test data for equipment samples or products. Devices for self-validation include commercial computers, TV and FM receivers, and industrial, scientific, and medical devices used by non-mass consumers of FCC Rule Part 18.
2. Declaration of Conformity (DoC): The declaration of conformity, the responsible party of the equipment (usually the manufacturer or importer) tests the product at the FCC's designated testing organization to ensure that the equipment meets the relevant technical standards and retains the test report. The issuing authority must have the authorization of NVLAP/A2LA. The FCC has the right to request the responsible party to submit test data for the sample or product of the equipment. Equipment for compliance declarations includes home computers and peripherals, civil broadcast receivers, super regenerative receivers, other receivers of FCC Rule Part 15, television interface equipment, cable system equipment, and mass consumer use of Part 18 Industrial, scientific and medical equipment.
3. Certification: ID authentication. Certification is the process by which the FCC signs equipment approval based on application and test data. The FCC reviews the sample (or photo) and test data submitted by the applicant and authorizes the device with an FCC ID number if it meets the requirements of the FCC Rules. Equipment suitable for certification includes low-voltage transmitters such as cordless phones, remote control for automatic doors, radio remote control toys and security alarm systems, Part 15 deliberately transmitting radio frequency energy devices, Part 18 for mass consumer use, Scientific research and medical equipment, automatic frequency conversion receivers and super regenerative receivers, TV interface equipment, and home computers and their peripherals. The responsible party should have the FCC ID tag on the device.
Third, the main standards of the FCC
As follows, FCC PART 15 and PART 18 are the most widely used:
FCC standard
FCC PART15 C/E/F intended radiation device test
FCC PART 18 Industrial, scientific and medical equipment
FCC PART 22 Public Mobile Communications Service
FCC PART 24 Personal Communication Service
FCC PART 25 Satellite Communication Service
FCC PART 27 Other FCC Wireless Communication Services
FCC PART 68 Telecommunications Terminal Equipment
FCC Part 15 specifies for launching devices that are intentional, unintentional or transient and that do not require a personal license in use. It includes technical specifications, administrative requirements, and other market access conditions. Products are mainly divided into four categories: unintentional launching equipment, intentional launching equipment, personal communication equipment without licenses, and basic information equipment in countries without licenses.
FCC Part 18 regulates the electromagnetic energy emitted by industrial, scientific, and medical equipment (ISM) operating on a range of frequencies to prevent harmful interference from authorized wireless communication services.
Fourth, the specific steps for the client to apply for FCC certification:
1. The customer submits the application form (the company provides a blank application form);
2. The customer signs a commission inspection contract with our company;
3, sample test, and prepare electrical schematics, external / internal photos, oscillator circuit block diagram, user manual nameplate identification, working principle description, etc. (depending on the product);
4. After passing the test, if it is FCC VOC certification, our company will issue the certificate and report directly. If it is FCC DOC or ID certificate, our company will submit the application materials to the FCC authorized issuing institution;
5. After the company obtains FCC certification, the FCC logo can be used on the product.
Note: The FCC ID certification requires a list of submissions and requirements as follows:
1) FCC application form: The information such as the company name, address, contact information, product name and model, and usage standards are required to be accurate;
2) FCC authorization letter: it should be signed and stamped by the applicant's contact person and scanned into an electronic file;
3) FCC confidential letter: The confidential letter is an agreement between the applicant company and the TCB institution to keep the product information confidential, and it should be signed and stamped by the contact person of the applicant company and scanned into an electronic file;
4) Block diagram: all crystal oscillators, as well as the crystal oscillator frequency, need to be drawn and consistent with the circuit diagram;
5) Circuit diagram: It must be consistent with the crystal frequency, the number of crystal oscillators and the position of the crystal oscillator in the block diagram;
6) Line description: The requirement is English, and the function realization principle of the product is clearly described;
7) Instruction manual: FCC warning is required;
8) Label and label position: The label must have FCC ID number and Statement, and the position of the label is required to be significant;
9) Appearance photo of the product: The picture is required to be clear and clear, and if necessary, add a note;
10) Test report: The test is required to be completed, and the product is evaluated in all aspects according to the standard terms;
