The Compliance Assessment Procedure (PVOC) implemented and implemented by the Tanzania National Bureau of Standards (TBS). All covered controlled products must be inspected and the product must comply with Tanzanian national standards and other recognized standards, and a Product Compliance Certificate (COC) will be issued on this basis. The program is scheduled to begin on December 31, 2011.
Certification implementation
The Certificate of Conformity (COC) is the necessary document to ensure the smooth customs clearance of the goods. This certificate certifies that the product complies with relevant Tanzanian technical regulations and national, regional and international standards. Failure to submit a certificate of conformity issued by the inspection agency may result in customs clearance delays or fines or even the return of the goods to the exporting country.
Goods exported to Tanzania need to apply for COC before export. If the goods arrive at the destination port after December 30, 2011, COC clearance is required. Otherwise, the customer may not be able to clear the customs smoothly.
Certification Update
From February 1, 2012, Tanzania implemented the Certificate of Conformity (COC), which is a pre-shipment inspection. All products in the Tanzania Control List are required to apply for COC before shipment, otherwise they will not be cleared at the port of destination. Unlike the previous Tanzanian shipping inspection, Tanzania COC needs to apply before shipment, and once the goods have left, it will not be able to replenish COC. In addition, the Tanzania COC also needs to submit product inspection reports and other information to review the documents first, and then pass the pre-shipment inspection and obtain the COC certificate.
The purpose of the New Deal
1) Ensure that imported products comply with local laws, regulations and relevant technical standards
2) Restrict non-standard, counterfeit, and shoddy products imported into Tanzania
3) Improve the market competitiveness of products that meet the standards
4) Protecting its domestic consumers, producers, environment and public safety from inferior products
5) The Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) directly authorizes the Tanzania COC certificate to help exporters exporting Tanzania to pre-shipment inspections and issue COC certificates.
